St. Philip's is a community conscious church. The following are the important outreach programs of the church.

Feed My Sheep
This program, operated by St. Philip's Church, provides nutritious, home-delivered meals on Saturdays to about 60 home-bound persons. For more information, call (301) 888-1536.


Lydia Patrice Turner Scholarship Fund
Established in 1979 to provide assistance to college students affiliated with St. Philip's or who reside in Charles, Prince George's or St. Mary's Counties and meet other criteria.

Rural Elderly Ministry Project (REMP)
A ministry to the elderly in Southern Prince George's County and parts of Charles County which seeks to enhance the quality of life, enabling residents to remain in their homes with the help of supportive services.

St. Philip's House - A Home for Seniors
15721 Baden Naylor Road, Brandywine, Maryland 20613
A group home for up to eight seniors which fills the gap between independent living and a nursing home. It provides 24-hour supervision including meals and assistance with daily living and transportation to recreational amenities and medical appointments. For more information, call (301) 888-2711.


St. Philip's Seniors Van
The van provides free medical transportation to seniors in lower Prince Georges County and the northeast portion of Charles County. The van is owned and operated by St. Philip's Church. The van was made possible through the generosity of the Women's Guild of the Episcopal Senior Ministries (ESM) of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, DC. The van was first put into service in November of 1996. In he first year, the van provided more than 2000 rides, serving more than 120 individuals.

In addition to the medical appointments, which make up the bulk of the Van's clientele, the Van runs occasional shopping trips for groups of seniors and takes seniors from the Brandywine Area Senior Citizens on outings for bowling. SHARE
This metropolitan-wide program is operated locally by St. Philip's Church. Monthly distribution on the fourth Saturday of each month provides approximately $35 worth of perishable and non-perishable food at the cost of $14 per family. There is no income criteria. However, each recipient must be able to demonstrate at least two hours a month of volunteer service. For details and reigistration, call (301) 888-1475.


Summer Enrichment Program
Another important outreach program of St. Philip's Church is its annual Summer Enrichment program. Since 1972, this program has ministered to the children of the community providing a month-long structured and creative learning experience. Call the church, at (301) 888-1536, for more information.

Adopt-a-Road
St. Philip's participates in this Prince George's County run program by cleaning the section of Baden-Westwood Road that passes the church and beyond.
